At Global Classroom Educational Consulting, our mission is to promote global competency, a key twenty-first century skill in students and educators.

Through academic study, community service and international travel, participants increase their global awareness, heighten their appreciation of diversity, and enlarge their capacity to work and contribute in an increasingly interconnected world.

Our Numbers

8+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE For the past 8 years we have worked to create international partnerships between schools to promote language acquisition and cultural competency.

400+ STUDENT PARTICIPANTS Living with a host family and attending a school abroad presents a challenge and an opportunity for both the visiting student and the host student. Both sides gain understanding of how language works in a different culture, how idioms are used, and how differently life proceeds away from their home community. There isn’t a student (or a teacher) who doesn’t return and say, “Do you know what they do in …” This kind of knowledge adds immensely to learning and can’t be duplicated in class.

1000+ COMMUNITY MEMBERS IMPACTED It takes a village to educate a child, but sometimes just one child can educate an entire village. The benefits derived from our bilateral exchanges echo throughout entire communities. The community’s involvement has been paramount to the success of these programs and the positive effect of hosting international students has rippled through the communities involved on countless levels and touched thousands of families.

Our Programs

Transform your classroom into a global classroom and your students will begin to see themselves as citizens of the world. Global classroom experiences will give your students the opportunity to contextualize their studies on a practical level. Our customized bespoke itineraries will meet the curricular needs of schools and their students. Students and instructors will be provided with unique experiences that promote socially responsible travel, social integration and linguistic proficiency.

LANGUAGE STUDIES As we aim to exchange language in our classroom to build linguistic proficiency, we must also provide students with a cultural context in which that language is used in order to create internal motivation and cultural competence in our students. When put in a safe and engaging space that values the communicative and holistic approaches necessary to build acquired competence, students will become increasingly proficient in their second language.

CONTENT SPECIFIC ITINERARIES Not two schools are exactly alike. Tell us your needs and we will build a program around them. Work-study, volunteer experiences and content specific programs can be built to make sure your students get the most out of their time abroad.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Global Classroom workshops look to provide World Language educators with a means to create language at a comprehensible level while honoring and acknowledging the culture and civilization in which it is used. Educators will be exposed to the idea of cultural exchange as a fundamental element of a language learners experience. This cultural exchange may take place through travel, virtual experiences and/or the use of and interaction with authentic resources. Teachers will be provided with a program that will enable them to create experiential learning tasks for their students that will inherently grow their proficiency while allowing them to live the language even as emerging speakers.
